Simple Layered Cards (Using Decoupage Papers) by Preeti Datta

Hi friends !

Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here, how’s it going? Hope you are having a pleasant day 🙂 To start with, I’d like to wish all the wonderful crafters and artists out there a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year (well in advance). May God bless you!

Today, I’d like to share 4 simple layered cards using Bob n Betty’s beautiful Decoupage Papers from the Imperial Collection. The idea behind these cards is that we can use these gorgeous traditional designs all around the year, not just during Diwali. I wanted to make simple layered cards without the use of Mixed Media supplies or any wet medium because I know so many of us don’t feel that comfortable with art media and yet feel like making pretty projects, so these cards are an easy way to use minimal supplies and create something beautiful & handmade. Since these decoupage papers are high in quality and have stunning colors & designs, the task of making cards with them becomes quite fun and simple. They really are quite versatile, you can use them for all kinds of paper crafting projects.

Here are a few photos of the cards:

Synopsis of the Process:

These cards are approximately 4 by 8 inches in size. I’ve used 3-4 layers of papers. In the first 2 cards, I wanted a softer look, so I went with a grey mat and in the next two, I’ve used red and blue colored cardstock as mats. Then I distressed the edges of the papers, in a couple of cards, stitching has been added for added interest & detailing. The butterflies are stamped & heat embossed in white, on vellum and then fussy cut for use as an embellishment. These create a sense of movement & add a subtle detail to an already busy pattern underneath. I’ve added die cut words for the sentiments, creating a shadow effect by first adhering a black die cut underneath. For the finishing touches, I’ve added liquid pearls to a few places.

Used Bob n Betty’s Decoupage Papers from the stunning Imperial Collection:

Hey everyone,

christmas is in the air and I’m truly inspired by this charming festive air. I made this project using Bob n Betty’s most versatile paper collection “Cottage Blush”.

So here’s a vintage Christmas card, a gift box and some tags.

I’ve used walnut brown distress ink shade for giving vintage look to my card and gift box, added some flowers and die cuts from the same paper collection to make beautiful layers on the card and tags.

Here is a closer look…..

hope you all like it

Thanks

Beautiful Baby Album designed by Riddhi Jani, using various collections

Hello everyone

Riddhi here, sharing my new project using the beautiful Cottage Blush and Bare Essentials paper collections from Bob n Betty.

I made a baby girl album with these papers.

If you are true scrapbooker, you need to lay your hands on Bare Essentials, this is one pack that comes in a variety of 18 different watercolor backgrounds and patterns and having these in your stash helps you bring variety to your projects, you can use the for any theme you want.

I took this baby image for the cover page from “Cuddling Cuties” paper pack.

I added lots of cute stuff to make my album more pretty.

I love to use flowers on my albums so I added lots n lots of them.

You can see how both the Paper packs are complimenting each other. And I really love to use different paper packs in one project. It really gives more interest and depth to any creation.

Hope you guys loved this project 🙂

Love

Shabby Chic Christmas Cards by Preeti Datta

Hi friends !

Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here, how’s it going? Hope you are having a pleasant day 🙂

With the winters and holiday season upon us, I thought of making something festive. I’d like to share two Shabby Chic Vintage Themed Christmas Cards today.

I used Bob N Betty’s gorgeous Decoupage papers from the Vintage Wheels Collection as the base, for the vintage look. For the floral elements & to add some color, I used papers from Bob n Betty’s stunning Woodies Collection.

Synopsis of the Process:

Both these cards are 4.5 by 8.5 inches in size. There are multiple layers in the cards, the main panels are made from Decoupage paper (Vintage Wheels Collection). I’ve added hand stitching to the borders, for a finished look & as a textural element. The edges of all the papers and mats were deckled and distressed for a worn out look. Elements used for layering & embellishment include lace, old book papers, torn pieces of scrapbook papers (Woodies Collection), twine, die cuts, wood embellishments, gems, net, gauze, pollens & buttons. Some of the elements were foam mounted to get a 3-d look and white gesso was dry brushed on some of the elements like the pollens to get a more shabby look. In the end, white splatter was created with white acrylic paint, to imitate the look of snow and a few pearls were added using perfect pearls.
