Today, I’d like to share a set of 2 Layered Vintage Cards I made using Bob n Betty’s beautiful new range of Decoupage Specialty Papers- “Meadows” and “Classics”. I also included a few elements from the “Glam Craft” collection. Both the cards are big sized, 5 by 9 inches. When I saw the pretty butterflies, birds and flowers, I was inspired by the theme of nature, so I added the title “Wild & Free” using alphabet beads, to both the cards.

The new Decoupage Specialty Paper Collections are perfect for vintage themed projects and they coordinate brilliantly with all the previous releases. It is super fun & easy to mix and match elements. The designs are gorgeous and these decoupage papers can be used for all kinds of paper crafting projects including decoupage, cards, scrapbooks, canvases, tags, art journalling etc. I would highly recommend checking out the numerous great examples on the Bob n Betty blog and Instagram page, made by the Design Teams over the years. It really is worth the time.

Decoupage box using the “Meadows” collection by Tanvi

Hello, this is Tanvi here to feature another awesome release MEADOWS, a set of eight delicate floral designs with a vintage touch in our range of decoupage specialty papers. This is a perfect collection for someone like me who loves vintage but always looks out for a dash of happy colors in vintage too! Each design is gorgeous!

bnb1.jpg

I will be sharing a decoupage box using my favorite print from the collection in which I have combined decoupage with reverse decoupage for the glass lid of this box.

A18005

Let me explain briefly –

  1.  First I did some stenciling with gold acrylic paint on the backside of the glass lid.
  2. Next I trimmed the specialty decoupage paper to the size of the lid & cut off a rectangle the size of the glass piece from this.

box

3. Glue this piece on the backside of the glass right side facing down  (reverse decoupage) & the left over to the frame of the lid. Seal with decoupage glue.

4. The base of the box was painted in antique gold acrylic paint. Once dry used masking tape to create bands & stenciled over the open bands with gold paint. Loved the stenciled bands.

5. Varnished & sanded the box to finish.

Here are some close ups of the box –

Thats all for today!

Thank you for stopping by & happy crafting!

Vintage Mixed Media Tags Designed by Preeti Datta using Bob N Betty Decoupage Papers

Hi friends 🙂

Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here. How are you today?

Bob n Betty will soon be celebrating it’s 3rd Birthday on 28th April, yay!! Everyone at the Bob n Betty family is very thankful for all the love & support bestowed on us. To celebrate, there will be lots of fun events & giveaways. One giveaway is already under way, to check out all the details of the giveaway & for your chance to win superb prizes, please visit the Bob n Betty Facebook page.

Today, I’d like to share two Vintage Mixed Media Tags. I created these using Bob N Betty’s gorgeous Decoupage Papers. These papers have classy designs and there are tons of designs to choose from among many collections. Over here, I used two of the older collections, Glam Craft and Vintage Wheels. These decoupage papers can be used to make different paper craft projects including scrapbooks, cards, tags etc It is really worth looking at all the brilliant inspiration the Design Team at Bob n Betty have come up with in the past.

Process:

Started by cutting one of the vintage design decoupage papers from Bob n Betty’s Vintage Wheels Collection & distressing the edges. Since I was making a pair of tags, I worked on both together, using similar supplies on both but changing the composition a little to create variation. Matted the paper with black cardstock. Did background stamping with archival inks. For the layers, used a few, small bits of papers from the Glam Craft Collection, lace, gauze, buttons, chipboards, paper dolls, flowers, dried hay & stalks, thread & wooden alphabets. Embellished with a few Nuvo drops, Liquid pearl drops & sequins. Then created some white splatter with watered down white gesso. Foam mounted the panels onto white cardstock and threaded some natural twine at the top of the tags. In the end, for shine, added Inka Gold & Prima Waxes in some areas with my fingers.

Shabby Chic Christmas Cards by Preeti Datta

Hi friends !

Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here, how’s it going? Hope you are having a pleasant day 🙂

With the winters and holiday season upon us, I thought of making something festive. I’d like to share two Shabby Chic Vintage Themed Christmas Cards today.

I used Bob N Betty’s gorgeous Decoupage papers from the Vintage Wheels Collection as the base, for the vintage look. For the floral elements & to add some color, I used papers from Bob n Betty’s stunning Woodies Collection.

Synopsis of the Process:

Both these cards are 4.5 by 8.5 inches in size. There are multiple layers in the cards, the main panels are made from Decoupage paper (Vintage Wheels Collection). I’ve added hand stitching to the borders, for a finished look & as a textural element. The edges of all the papers and mats were deckled and distressed for a worn out look. Elements used for layering & embellishment include lace, old book papers, torn pieces of scrapbook papers (Woodies Collection), twine, die cuts, wood embellishments, gems, net, gauze, pollens & buttons. Some of the elements were foam mounted to get a 3-d look and white gesso was dry brushed on some of the elements like the pollens to get a more shabby look. In the end, white splatter was created with white acrylic paint, to imitate the look of snow and a few pearls were added using perfect pearls.

Mixed Media Layout- Enjoy the Journey (Tutorial) by Preeti Datta

Hello Dear Crafty Friends!

Preeti D. (aka Dutt Preety) here. Hope you had a nice weekend.

I’d like to share a Mixed Media Layout titled “Enjoy the Journey” today.

I’ve used Bob n Betty’s gorgeous new Cottage Blush Collection here. It has beautiful and classy designs which are perfect for vintage and shabby chic projects. For this project, I was inspired by the theme of travel, adventure & the great outdoors and wanted to create a vintage look.

Here is a photo of the layout:

Procedure:

Slideshow: Few photos of the process

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

  1. Chose a beautiful wood grain design paper from Bob n Betty’s Cottage Blush Collection and applied Prima’s Clear Gesso all over the background and then Heavy White Gesso on some areas of it to prepare the base for media.
  2. Prepared the elements for the layout by fussy cutting & distressing the edges of post card images from one of the pattern papers in the Cottage Blush Collection.
  3.  Heat embossed the chipboards in black then colored some gauze with Lindy’s Sprays and rolled some old book pages into straw shapes.
  4. Created a composition around the photo by layering the burlap, fussy cut images, gauze, paper straws, chipboards and strings. Adhered it to the page by using Tacky glue.
  5. Did background work on the page by using stencils, stamps and archival inks in 2 shades: black and brown
  6. Added more stencil work to the background by heat embossing in white
  7. Added a bit of color (in shades of black, brown, pink & green using Lindy’s sprays) to the background as well as in some places on the main composition
  8. After everything was dry, added a bit of brown color using Lindy’s sprays to the 4 corners of the page to bring the piece together and add depth. Darkened the edges of the page with Black Archival Ink and added hand drawn borders as well as some doodling with white acrylic paint
  9. In the end, added a couple of word stickers as secondary sentiments to support the main title and created white and brown splatter to bring everything together.

That’s all for today.

A Scrapbook Page Layout Designed with Cottage Blush, By Tanya Cloete

Hello Buddies,

Tanya here with a Scrapbook Page Layout using the STUNNING Cottage Blush Collection! Totally in love with these gorgeous papers and loving the soft vintage look.

I have mentioned some steps here for you to recreate this kinda layout…

  1. Use one of the sheets from the collection as your base.
  2. Mix some modeling paste with white paint and add to your page on the side using a stencil. I used a butterfly. I then added some glitter before leaving it to dry. Giving it a bit of a sparkle.
  3. Cut 3 strips using another sheet and adhere on the other side.
  4. Cut some shapes using various dies to form the layering on your page where photo will be placed. I have used the collection and some cardstock.
  5. Fussy cut some elements from the tag sheet in the collection to add with the flowers.
  6. Emboss the chipboard pieces (clock, chipboard frame and title) with embossing powders (Lindy’s Stamp Gang Purely White & Chateau Rose). These colours are optional.
  7. Arrange the rest of your embellishments (flowers, leaves, gauze and sequins) as per the picture or as you like.
  8. All done!

Hope you like this as much as I enjoyed making it!

Happy Papercrafting!

Mixed Media Layout “Forever” by Preeti Datta, showcasing Cottage Blush paper pack

Hi friends !

Preeti Datta (aka Dutt Preety) here, how’s it going? Hope you are having a pleasant day.

Today, I’d like to share a romantic Vintage Mixed Media Layout titled Forever.

I’ve used gorgeous papers from the new Cottage Blush Paper Pack by Bob N Betty. This paper pack has wonderfully delicate designs and a soft color palette. It would be great for shabby chic, vintage and romantic themed projects. There are a couple of designs in there that would be perfect for grungy mixed media projects as well. There are many pretty flowers which can be fussy cut for embellishment. Inspired by the designs, I decided to make a vintage romantic layout which is a totally new style to me but I enjoyed it a lot.

Here are some close-up photos of the layout:

I’ve depicted a vintage wedding here. Essentially, clear gesso was applied on the background (to prep the surface and not hide the beautiful designs of the paper) then color was added with ink sprays. Background stamping was done and a few stamped designs were embossed in white. Then, the wedding photo was framed within an embossed mdf frame. Pearls were adhered to the frame to make it the focal point. Lots of flowers from the paper pack were fussy cut and used for embellishment and layering. I’ve added gauze, burlap string and vintage lace for texture and interest. White splatter was created to bring the design together.

That’s all for today.
